Gunung ledang is well known for its rich mystery and legends that surrounds its natural beauty. It's one of the most visited attraction for those who loves hiking, bird watching and others. The mountain stands tall at 1276 m high at according to the Johor National park corporation, its the sixth most difficult mountain to climb in the country. The mountain will definitely test the physical and mental ability for those who desired to conquer it.
The myth that surrounds the mountain makes it more attractive for those visitors that came to the site. there is the myth of "the legend of the puteri gunung ledang", where the princess had 7 impossible conditions of marriage made for the sultan that wish to have her as his bride. this legend makes it part of the attraction that attracts people to come to visit the mountain.
Gunung Ledang is also known for its rich of flora species that attracts all the flora lovers all around the world. The bird species at the mountain is reportedly around 160 species.
there are plenty others attraction that available at the mount of ledang such as Air Terjun Puteri, Sungai Tiga Segi,Taman Orkid, Taman Herba and others.
The facilities provided by the park are all to provide for the visitors needs. facilities such as visitors complex, air conditioned hall, chalets, praying room, campsites and others. the park also provides their visitors with plenty of activities to enjoy. among the activities are motivational camp, night walk, paintball, jungle trekking and many others.
ADMISSION, CHARGES, FEES AND PERMIT
- The fees of entrance for the park is RM1.00 per person and RM 0.50 for kids( age 4- 12).
- In order to climb the mountain, specific charges will be applied.Registration at RM3.00.
- A day trip charges is at RM13.00 per adult for malaysian and RM23.00 for foreigner
HOW TO GET THERE
- Use the north south highway and exit at tangkak and follow the signboards for sagil and segamat.
- The mountain headquarter is 500m after sagil town
- or Take the express bus from KL to Tangkak or Johor bahru to Tangkak
- arrangement can be made with the mountain management or Johor National Park management at the time of booking for a private van operator to pick up the travelers at tngkak bus station and use the ferry to get into the park.
