Hi, peeps...today we will blogging about natural site of Malaysia, which is, Lata
Kinjang. It is one of Malaysia's highest waterfalls, cascading down a
steep 200 meter-high stretch of rocky slopes and surfaces at
Chenderiang. Located about 12km north of Tapah, the waterfall is
highly visible along the North-South Highway due to its sheer size
and height, easily impressing travelers to a quick detour at the
nearest exit (Kampar). Lata
Kinjang is not difficult to find, and it is connected by a quite good
condition road from the Tapah town compared with other waterfall’s
bumpy road. A small parking fee is charged for cars (normally active
only on weekends and public holidays) at the recreational park below
the falls. There also have a souvenir shops as travelers want to buy something as memorable thing.

There is an interesting history about this place actually. Lata
Kinjang is not only a good picnic spot but also famous of its
legendary Malay character, Sang Kelembai who had lived with her
child. Sang
Kelembai was said to be a female giant with red hair and the villagers
feared as her curse would turn anything into rock. The
rocky terrain of Lata Kinjang was supposedly formed when she cursed
the spot where her child was crushed by a tree. Spooky right??
To reach here, head towards Tapah town and from there, follow
the Chenderiang signboard to get to the waterfall. When on the trunk
road to Ipoh, one can either take a right turn to Lata Kinjang on
seeing a signboard for the waterfall or go straight until one sees a
signboard that says "Temoh". Lata Kinjang is about 15km
from Tapah town and about 60km from Ipoh. When one gets to
Chenderiang town, turn left and then looks out for the signboard -
"Lata Kinjang". Visitors will arrive at an Orang Asli
settlement called Kampung Kinjang before reaching the waterfall.
OR
Take
the Tapah Exit of North-South Expressway. Turn right to Tapah town at
the first traffic light. The left way will leads you to Cameron
Highlands. Before you come to Tapah town, there is a second traffic
light and take another right turn. At this point, you are able to
find Lata Kinjang road sign all the way until you reach the
waterfall.
